I\u00a0n 2015, 98% of the 251,774 manufacturing firms were considered to be small (i.e., having fewer than 500 employees). And 75% of these firms have fewer than 20 employees.(Source: U.S. Census Bureau, Statistics of U.S. Businesses) Hoffer Plastics leads the way as an exemplary, small U.S. manufacturer. They offer:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>A wide range of manufacturing jobs, career pathing and training \u2013 from entry level to executive management<\/li>\r\n<li>A focused entr\u00e9e and internship program for local high school and college students<\/li>\r\n<li>A superior salary and benefits package that includes tuition reimbursement, job sharing, remote support and flexible work schedules<\/li>\r\n<li>A third generation family owned and operated company with a values based culture<\/li>\r\n<li>A recognized leader in environmental sustainability with the potential to reinvent the plastics industry<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>A Significant Role in the U.S. Economy<\/h2>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hofferplastics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/hector.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"316\" height=\"172\" \/>The manufacturing industry:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Contributes over\u00a0$2.3 trillion\u00a0to the U.S. economy<\/li>\r\n<li>Produces\u00a0$1.89 in business growth for every\u00a0$1 dollar spent<\/li>\r\n<li>Has over\u00a012 million jobs\u00a0employing 8.5% of the U.S. workforce, at an\u00a0average salary of over $84,000\u00a0annually, inclusive of benefits.\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>And speaking of benefits:\u00a092% of manufacturing workers are eligible for employer paid benefits, and over 80% participate<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>A Positive Outlook Despite a Shifting World Economy<\/h2>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hofferplastics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/bill.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"295\" height=\"294\" \/>While U.S. manufacturing is a smaller factor than it once was (due to an increasingly service oriented economy, global trade and other\u00a0factors), its outlook remains very promising:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>World trade in manufactured goods has more than doubled between 2000 and 2014\u2014from $4.8 trillion to $12.2 trillion<\/li>\r\n<li>U. S.
